Operator responsible for personal data: [Confirm legal name and postal address]

Namma Madurai (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a platform for discovering Madurai businesses, places, offers, events, local information, marketplace listings and employment opportunities. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use our app and related services.

1. Information we handle

The information involved depends on the features you use:

  • Account and contact details: Your name, phone number, email address, profile photograph, address and login-related information supplied during registration or profile updates.
  • Business and public content: Business contact details, listing addresses, photographs, descriptions, offers, marketplace posts, ratings and reviews that you submit for publication.
  • Requests and communications: Enquiries, service requests, messages and information you send to support or submit to another user through the platform.
  • Job applications: Contact information, qualifications, experience, resumes and other details you choose to include when applying for a job. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in your resume.
  • Location: With permission, location information used for nearby results, maps and distance calculations. [Confirm precise/approximate location, whether coordinates are uploaded or retained, retention period and whether any background access occurs.]
  • Technical information: [Confirm the exact device information, IP addresses, app activity, identifiers, notification tokens and diagnostic records collected by the app, server and integrated SDKs; remove categories not collected.]

[If donor registration, payments, bookings or live location sharing are enabled, describe their exact information, recipients, visibility and retention here before publishing.]

2. Why we use information

We use the information required to operate accounts, publish submitted content, deliver search results and requested services, process enquiries and applications, respond to support requests, maintain the platform and address misuse.

[Confirm any analytics, advertising personalisation, recommendations and promotional messaging, including the data used and the choices provided.]

Where consent is required, we request it before the relevant processing. Reading this policy or using the app does not replace a separate consent request where one is needed.

3. Permissions and choices

You can review or revoke permissions through Android settings. Denying a permission may prevent the associated feature from working.

[Confirm and retain only permissions actually requested: location for nearby features; camera for QR scanning or taking photographs; access to selected photos/files for uploads or resumes; notifications for alerts. Explain whether accessed content stays on the device or is transmitted.]

We explain unexpected uses of personal information within the app before asking for permission. [Confirm implementation, particularly for background location.]

4. Public information and sharing

Information submitted for public display, such as business contact details and reviews, can be viewed and copied by others. Do not include private information in public posts that you do not want others to see.

When you submit an enquiry or job application, the information necessary for that request is provided to the selected business, service provider or employer. Their subsequent handling of information is subject to their own responsibilities and privacy practices.

Service providers supporting the platform may process information needed to supply their services. [Identify actual hosting, messaging, maps, analytics, advertising and other providers, the data each receives, and links to their privacy policies.]

Information may also be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, protect safety or enforce legal rights. We do not sell personal information. [Owner to confirm this commitment against all commercial and SDK arrangements.]

5. Advertising and external services

Namma Madurai displays advertisements. [Identify each active advertising provider, the information it collects, whether ads are personalised, and how users can manage relevant choices. Do not name an SDK unless it is actually used.]

Links may take you to external websites, maps, social platforms or services. Review their privacy notices before providing information. This policy explains our own handling of information and does not replace those notices.

6. Security and processing location

[Describe verified safeguards, including access restrictions and protection during transmission and storage. Confirm HTTPS for every endpoint and SDK before stating that data is encrypted in transit.]

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, OTPs or unnecessary identity documents to support.

[Specify hosting countries and any cross-border processing by service providers, with applicable safeguards.]

7. Retention

We retain information for the purposes described in this policy and delete or irreversibly anonymise it when it is no longer needed, subject to necessary legal and security retention.

Before publication, complete the actual schedule:

| Information | Retention period or deletion rule |

| --- | --- |

| Account details and associated content | [Specify] |

| Job applications and uploaded resumes | [Specify] |

| Enquiries and support communications | [Specify] |

| Location records, if stored | [Specify] |

| Technical logs and advertising identifiers | [Specify] |

| Backups | [Specify expiry and deletion approach] |

| Records retained for legal/security reasons | [Identify records, reason and duration] |

8. Account deletion and privacy requests

You can contact nammamaduraiapp@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion or assistance with your personal information. For account deletion, use the subject “Namma Madurai — Account Deletion Request” and provide your registered email address or mobile number. Do not send your password or OTP.

We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify account ownership. [Confirm the operational verification process and response/deletion timeframe.]

In-app deletion route: [Insert exact menu path]

External deletion page: [Insert publicly accessible URL]

Deletion covers the account and associated personal information, except specifically disclosed information retained for a necessary legal or security purpose. Uninstalling the app does not itself delete an account. Information already received by an employer or other independent recipient may need to be addressed directly with that recipient.

You may also ask to withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, and raise privacy concerns using the contact below. Withdrawal may affect features that need the information, without undoing processing already carried out lawfully.

9. Children and young users

[Confirm the intended audience and applicable minimum age. Describe restrictions or the parental consent and verification process actually implemented for users below the applicable age. Do not use an unsupported “under 13” clause merely because it appears in a generic template.]

If you believe a child has supplied personal information without the required authorisation, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. Changes to this policy

Updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Significant changes will be communicated through an appropriate app notice or other available channel. Where a new use requires consent, we will request it before beginning that use.

Owner notes — remove before publishing

This is a tailored draft, not a verified description of the app's implementation. Complete all bracketed fields and validate the remaining statements against the released app, backend and SDKs.

The existing web policy states that HTTPS is used, while the Play listing says “Data isn’t encrypted.” Investigate and resolve this inconsistency based on actual behaviour. The Play listing's data collection disclosure also appears narrower than the existing policy; reconcile both after checking the implementation.

Google Play requires an accessible privacy-policy webpage and, for apps that support in-app account creation, a discoverable deletion request option inside the app and on an external web resource. A policy document alone does not implement these features.
